Copy Cat

As I sit here and sip my ice coffee and enjoy my last hours of quietness before I head off to work, I think about what inspires me...what catches my eyes and ears and has the power to influence the person I am. I was thinking about this because the other day I was on Instagram just looking through random photos and I came across this gem.....

I don't know what caught my eye more...the shocking neon yellow Carhartt cap or her cherry red lips. I've really been into the early 90's hip hop vibe this summer and this entire look just really excites me. I'm not one to obsess over celebrities, (everyday people inspire me more).. but Rihanna has been nailing it consistently on the head for me lately. So much so that I actually went out and purchased the same neon yellow cap. It was such a steal for only $8 bucks!! If it wasn't so damn humid out here in the city of Albany I'd wear it now...but I guess I'll just have to wait a little bit longer.

One of the best things about fashion for me personally is the chance to play the "grown up" version of dress up everyday. I'm just lucky I don't have a job that forces me to dress like a robot clone! This is why I don't hesitate to fully embrace oddball trends such as wearing sleepwear as outerwear. Re purposing articles of clothing is also a glorious way to stretch my college student budget wardrobe.
